Police are investigating a home invasion at Bellevue Hill where a woman was threatened with a knife yesterday afternoon. About 2:45pm, Sunday 21 September 2014, a 51-year-old woman was home alone in her house on Kalgoa Road when she discovered a man inside her bedroom. The man, who was armed with a knife, threatened her and demanded money before being handed several pieces of jewellery. A short time later the woman’s husband returned home and was also threatened by the man who demanded the keys to his Mercedes 4WD. The armed man got into the vehicle while the residents locked the front door of the house and called Triple Zero (000). He attempted to flee in the Mercedes but ran off after crashing it into a nearby pole. Detectives from Rose Bay Local Area Command are investigating the incident and are looking for a man described as possibly being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 183cm tall with a medium build and dark brown hair. He was wearing a blue cap, a blue t-shirt, orange gym shorts and carrying a black backpack and a large knife. Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
