Police are investigating a shooting where shots were fired at a house in Canley Heights last night. About 9pm, Wednesday 24 July 2013, police were called to Welwyn Road after a resident reported hearing gunshots in the street. Officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command attended the scene locating gunshot damage to the front door of a house. A crime scene was established with a number of bullet cartridges located and seized for examination. The occupants of the home were not injured during the incident and police have been told a vehicle was heard leaving the area shortly after the shooting. Cabramatta detectives are continuing their investigations into the matter and are being assisted by officers from the State Crime Command’s Operation Apollo. Police urge anyone who witnessed the shooting or saw any suspicious vehicles in the street during the night to contact Crime Stoppers.
