Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in his home at Prairiewood this morning. About 8.25am (Saturday 2 August 2014), an 18 year-old man answered a knock at the front door of his home on Greenfield Road. Police have been told a man armed with a knife forced his way into the house. Another resident, a 52 year-old man, intervened and was stabbed in the arm, before the man fled from the house in a white sedan. Police were contacted and Fairfield Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation. The older man was taken to Liverpool hospital for treatment to the wound. A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers. Investigators would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries; he is described as Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 183cm tall and was wearing a black shirt.
