Police are investigating an arson which has destroyed a car in Para Hills overnight. At about 1.40am, Police and the MFS were called to a home on Williamson Road after the occupant woke to noises in her driveway. It was not long before the occupant discovered her car, parked under the carport in her driveway, was on fire and completely engulfed in flames. MFS were able to put the fire out before it spread any further but the car was completely destroyed. The occupant and her daughter were not injured. After further investigation, MFS discovered a fire lighter had been placed under the wheel of the car and set alight. This is the second suspicious incident at this home in the last week. Last Saturday morning, 28 June, the occpupant discoverd a fire lighter on the front window seal of her home. It appeared to have been set alight but did not take due to the window seals being aluminium. It is believed the fire lighters were put there sometime the night before. Police are unable to determine a motive at this time and investigations continue. The victims neighbouring house is vacant and groups of unknown people have been seen to gather there at times, particularly on weekends. Police urge anyone who may have seen any suspcious people or activity in the vicinity around either of these incidents to contact Crime Stoppers.
