Police confiscate 35 kg smuggled gold Police in Kathmandu seized 35 kg smuggled gold during a raid at Koteshwor in Kathmandu early Wednesday morning. A team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested the driver of a container (Ba-3-Kha 2570) that was used for the delivery of the gold. According to the police, preliminary inquiry suggests that the gold was being smuggled to India from Tibet from Nepal route. This is one of biggest seizures of smuggled gold in the recent months. On May 15, the police had nabbed four persons with 16 kg gold from Thamel in Kathmandu. The illegal consignment had also come from Tibet - be be smuggled to India. Nepalnews
