Police have arrested and charged two men who were reportedly from Israel with a hate crime, after they allegedly attacked a 56-year-old African-American man in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The victim was walking his dog around 6:40 p.m. this past Saturday at Albany and Montgomery avenues in Brooklyn, when the suspects came up to him, police told 1010 WINS. The suspects punched the man in the face several times and threw garbage cans at him while using racial slurs, police said. A DNAInfo report said prosecutors alleged that the suspects called the man a n***** while saying “this is my dog” during the attack. Two suspects – Samuel Brendler, 21, and Ahrone Kofkase, 22 – were charged with assault as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon two days after the attack, police said. JP Updates reported the men were both from Israel and were visiting Brooklyn at the time of the incident.
