Police have charged a man after he allegedly graffitied a railway station in Erskineville this morning. About 1am (Friday 1 August 2014), officers from Police Transport Command North Central were conducting patrols of Erskineville Railway Station. They saw three people applying graffiti to a large mural on the western wall of the railway station. The police called out for them to stop and the three allegedly ran from the location. After a short foot pursuit, two continued to run and were not apprehended. One man, aged 28, was caught a struggle ensued and officers arrested him. He was taken Newtown Police Station he was charged with enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence, destroy/damage property in company less than $2000, possess graffiti implements and resist officer in execution in duty. The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Newtown Local Court on Thursday 21 August 2014.
