Police in Nairobi have recovered an AK47 rifle stolen from a policewoman earlier this week. The firearm was recovered in Sewage area of Eastleigh during a shoot out with gunmen at about 3am. Nairobi Police chief Benson Kibui says officers had been tipped off about the gangsters who refused to surrender the firearm and instead opened fire at the officers. The gunmen however managed to escape after dropping down the firearm loaded with 15 rounds. Kibui is now appealing to the public and health centres to volunteer information about one of the gunmen who escaped with a gunshot wound on the right arm. The firearm was stolen from a policewoman who was in the company of others patroling Kinyago slum in Dandora
