Police in the Borders are appealing for witnesses following the theft of around £1,900 worth of plumbing materials. Thieves broke into a works yard at a property in Ashkirk sometime between 8pm on Tuesday 15th April and 9am on Wednesday 16th April and made off with some copper piping and hot water cylinders. Inspector Raymond Dutton said: Enquiries are underway after theft of copper from a central heating services company and we are appealing for anyone who saw something suspicious in the Ashkirk area on Tuesday or Wednesday to get in touch immediately. Anyone with information on this incident can contact Police Scotland on 101 or, alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
