Police vehicle reportedly hijacked, driver found dead MU NEWS/IMPHAL, Sep 25 : An unidentified gunmen reportedly fired indiscriminately at a police team and hijacked the police vehicle Rakshak (MN04-1519) along with its driver at gun point, unconfirmed sources available here tonight said. The incident took place in front of PCTC oil outlet located at DM college gate in Imphal around 8.20 tonight, reports claimed. However there was no report of any casualty during the incident,the source claimed. Later the police vehicle was found abandoned near Kshetrigao Sabal Leikai in Imphal East district around 9.30pm. The driver of the police vehicle identified as one Elangbam Joy of Shamurou in Imphal West district, was also found dead as per the reports available here. How the police vehicle was hijacked was not known till the report goes to the website. The concerned police authority could not be contacted for details and official comments.
