Political adviser to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, Senator Umaru Gada, has assured Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Yabo, a Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) chieftain, who decamped to the PDP with his supporters of adequate protection. Gada, in a statement yesterday, said the decision taken by Yabo and his supporters to join the PDP is well thought out, saying it is a step in the right direction. He said, “As political adviser to the national chairman of the party, I assure you that you and your group will be properly integrated into the affairs of the party in Sokoto State and I enjoin you and your supporters to ensure through massive grassroots mobilization that PDP holds its strong grip in all future elections in Sokoto state as replicated in the past”. Describing the CPC as an extinguished political platform, Gada maintained that the PDP is the ideal political party where the principles of internal democracy, party discipline and due process are at work. “The PDP you should note is a political family of like minded compatriots and nationalists who are united in their resolve to bequeath to our dear nation a befitting political culture and a responsive government committed to the provision of giving dividends of democracy to our people across the nation. “Our great party has institutionalized political sanity and decorum. On account of this, I assure you that the rights and privileges of every member will be protected as usual including yours and your teaming supporters now in the PDP fold,” he stated.
