Pollution Pollution is the result of the reprehensible, - TopicsExpress

Pollution Pollution is the result of the reprehensible, insensitive acts of unconscionable men. There is enough “sign” around us when it is read right to indicate the presence of pollution and the threat it represents. It does not matter whether it is just a little or a lot, pollution is pollution. Websters 1913 defines pollution: The act of polluting, or the state of being polluted (in any sense of the verb); defilement; uncleanness; impurity. The world around us is becoming more toxic. It is toxic because of the disregard and lack of personal responsibility each of us have for the possessions of God. Man seems to have forgotten who the earth’s and universe’s landlord is and the resulting pollution has reached epic proportions. The lack of conscientiousness, responsibility and accountability driven by greed and avarice has revealed the rising conditions of pollution around us as well as the rising threat to human existence because of it. Pollution is not the creation of God, but represents the decadence of men bereft of any dedication or recognition of true ownership. Ownership is, whether we like it or not: Rom.14 [8] For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lords. Not only are we the Lord’s, but so is everything else from the earth to the farthest galaxy in the Universe. How we treat the Lord’s possessions is a reflection of our love of God and our perceptions of our responsibility to God’s Kingdom. Pss.24 [1] The earth is the LORDs, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Any questions? 2Thes.2 [1] Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, [2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. [3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; [4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. [5] Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? [6] And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. [7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: [9] Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. [13] But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: [14] Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. [15] Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. [16] Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, [17] Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. It is the enemy of us all’s primary business to bring pollution to promote his effort to destroy all of God’s creation. If Satan can control man than the man becomes Satan’s puppet to promote his purpose. His purpose is not just to destroy humanity, but to destroy all of God’s creation. Luke.22 [31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: [32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. (notice that even though Peter had followed Jesus Christ Peter is still not converted.) We should all be aware that God is not going to allow this to happen. If we are committed to the Lord and His Will than we can resist the devil and he has to flee and be assured that the gates of hell cannot prevail against any one of us. Gen.2 [15] And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. The earth and universe’s care is the responsibility of mankind and of all of God’s creation mankind is the most rebellious and irresponsible. Luke.16 [2] And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. [3] Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. [4] I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. 1Cor.4 [2] Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. Webster’s 1913 Dictionary defines the word “steward:” “a man employed in a large family, or on a large estate, to manage domestic concerns.” (If you look up the definition you will find that I took one sentence that applied to what came to me this morning). The large family is the human race. The large estate is the estate that belongs to the Creator. The domestic concerns represent the conditions around us and in us! I must be a good steward and I must embrace all that being a good steward is. By taking the role and responsibility of a steward of the Creator I become continuously conscious of the things that belong to God and the importance of my level of care. I can assure you today, that before mankind can destroy God’s creation God is going to return, reestablish Himself as the Landlord of the earth and universe and restore the earth and universe to its original condition. He is going to establish His Kingdom visibly and the lead work is being done by those who have taken the opportunity to establish citizenship in this Kingdom now. The final act of God to encourage Pharoah to free the Hebrews is shocking. Moses instructs every head of house to sacrifice an unblemished lamb, put the blood of that lamb on the lintel and door post of their dwelling, consume the body of the lamb completely, and be dressed for a long journey. I cannot imagine the wailing that could be heard throughout Egypt that next morning as heads of households who chose not to be obedient found their firstborn had perished in the night just as God had instructed Moses to tell them. Death even reached into the Pharoah’s house and took the life of his son. We have all heard how some of the Old Testament stories are types and shadows of things to come. A new lamb has been sacrificed. We are instructed to partake of his body and blood. We are encouraged to make our homes a sanctuary representing the presence of the Lord’s grace, and we are also instructed to prepare ourselves for a journey. We are to keep the world outside and the Lord inside. Stewardship has to begin with each one of us as individuals. The purpose of my citizenship in the church is to teach me how to be a good steward of my own gift of life and those responsibilities the Lord gives me.
