Poltically talking the independence should be the right status, according to universal human rights, freedom and universal democracy. But it’s not achievable in the present conditions because it’d lead to struggle. The Middle Way Policy means ‘Middle of two extremes: neither we accept repression, nor we seek independence’ quoting Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay. Philosophically talking the Middle Way Approach, due to the enlightened thought of Arya Nagarjuna, it’s a way of being, a philosophy that should be always practiced by humanity to be happy, balanced and satisfied. It’s the perfect status of our nature. It’d be ideal to have an independent Tibet where to practice the Middle Way philosophy. But because it’s not realistically possible to aspire to Indipendence due to the dangerousness of the effects, we stand for the Middle Way Policy to achieve a compromise: the Genuine Autonomy, within China or within the framework of the Chinese constitution, which is mutually beneficial. Where the Middle Way philosophy is always within us. It requires to realize emptiness or the emptiness of emptiness.
