Please go to nycsecondchancerescue.org to fill out an application Here is what the volunteer said about her A volunteer writes: If I could gather May May in my arms and promise her that she will spend her remaining days curled up on a comfortable bed, surrounded by people who love her I would. I would promise her the moon and the stars if I could. Adopted from us some time ago, and returned due to landlord issues, May May has a worried look on her face and its understandable. Shes absolutely gorgeous, an elegant face, lush coat, slightly plump and wears it well. When asked if she is housebroken, the response was very, and she demonstrated that to me by peeing endlessly as soon as we were out the door. Were also told that she has some hip pain (understandable at her age), loves kids and approaches them to be petted, is gentle in play with other dogs, ignores cats, knows sit down and play dead, likes squeaky toys and is terrified of storms. She is such a delight to walk, calm and easy on the leash yet with a spry step of a much younger dog. She enjoyed some treats, posed for pictures like a super model, and ignored all the craziness in the park on a Sunday afternoon. Families barbecuing, kids on skate boards, tossing a ball, playing music, there was lots going on, and May May calmly walked by my side through it all. She demonstrated possible food guarding during her behavior assessment, so care will need to be taken if this behavior exists once home. May May isnt looking for a running partner, or an exercise guru, or a hiking buddy....shes looking for some easy walks, a warm bed in which to curl up, a hand to pet her, and a soft voice to tell her shes loved.
