Poor People Must Liberate Themselves Or Die Poor. My long - TopicsExpress

Poor People Must Liberate Themselves Or Die Poor. My long experience in life and politics tells me people cannot be saved by others. They must save themselves. This is why people cannot depend on others to think for them. They must use their minds, unite with others of like minds and see how best they can solve their collective problems. Intellectual liberation is the beginning of all freedom and emancipation. While a man rich with ideas can eradicate poverty – as many have – a poor man intellectually must hire people with rich, resourceful minds to eradicate all poverties – material and intellectual. Only irredeemable slaves, many who we have in Kenya, will wait in vain for their tribal kings to save them. Even leaders will not save people unless they know their destination and have good minds to help leaders deliver their collective liberation. Even those who dream of taking this country to the First World must begin their journey by sharpening their minds. It is not for nothing the Bible says: “My people perish because they lack knowledge.” I would be lying if I told poor people that I can save them. But if I can contribute ideas and sweat to the struggle for collective liberation, I will have done my bit and ready to face my Maker with a clean conscience. Here I do not mention money as a possible contribution because beggary has been the curse and source of poor people’s poverty and ruin. Money has been given not to liberate but subjugate and enslave masses. Anybody who depends on others to save or enrich them will die poor – mtegemea cha nduguye hufa hali maskini.
