Poor mans movie making So...want to have better audio in your video but dont have an input jack for your camera? In film audio is recorded on a separate device and then joined with the picture during processing. The clap board was used to help with the audio sync. You can record audio separately too. Bring it into your editor and get it to line up with the camera audio. Youll be able to hear when its out of sync and see the peaks to help you nudge things in the right direction. Once they line up silence the camera audio, et voila! You have better sound in sync with the picture. The old clap board is still helpful here as it gives you a specific peak that is easy to see and hear.
