Poppa Terry’s Words of Wisdom #213 “Random Stuff during Christmas and the Holiday Season” 1) 12 shopping days until Christmas – nevermind getting me anything – I’m on the Naughty List. 2) What nationality is Santa Claus? North Polish 3) Nothing says “I love you” more at Hanukkah than a present neatly wrapped in Hallmark paper designed with Swastikas - Doh! 4) I bought the perfect Christmas Tree ornament this week – My Fourth Year Being Single...lol... 5) This week Vice President Joe Biden told a girl in a grade school, “You can be as smart as any boy.” Huh? Awkward... 6) Confusing Headline this week – “Improperly Served Nuts Force Korean Plane Delay” - I had to read the story twice to learn if the people were nuts, or if the nuts were bad, or if the nuts were served at the wrong time. Nope, none of those – the nuts were served to one passenger in an incorrect manner.... 7) For some reason, I’ve listened to a lot more Christmas music this year. 8) I heard one of my favorites this morning –“Celebrate Me Home” – a song written and performed by Kenny Loggins and Bob James. Bob is a Jazz pianist from Marshall, MO. 9) I read that the best Christmas gift for a guy this year is a fancy dress watch – haven’t our cell phones made those obsolete? Just wondering... 10) The Missouri football team is in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. Okay...what a strange name.... 11) Gotta love one of my old home towns, St. Joe, MO - The idiot bar owner of “Mug Shots” named a shot drink this week the “Michael Brown Special”.... WTF? 12) One Ugly Christmas Sweater Party down, two to go – I am going for the Hat Trick this year. 13) Lastly, who is Santas favorite singer? Elf-is Presley! Matthew 2:10 “They were overjoyed at seeing the star,” Have a safe and beautiful weekend and I pray you don’t have a “Blue Christmas”. And, go Chiefs.... Poppa Terry
