Portable Turntable Construction : To the top of the boat swivel I attach two steel 1 x 1 tubes for the main structural support for the turntable bridge. Then ties are spaced and affixed to the top side of the steel tubes. Underneath I use a 6 x 24 oak board. The bottom of the swivel attaches to this. The whole affair is held fast to the track with steel channels that grip the underside of the rails. The threaded bolts in the steel channels go up through the oak board which sits on top of the ties holding the turntable very securely to the track.
