The fan gathering took on its own life starting with the entrance gate and on to the Cafe the siting on the little wall near the entrance where we were trying to get intelligence on where the entrance line would form. Once told there was a little mad dash to see who would be in front and then the rest just lined up behind in a fairly orderly fashion. Then the commencement of the 3 hour wait in line and the Fan Love Fest began. There were fans getting drinks for each other, I got to give out about 100 pins to people asking where did you get them and were amazed to see all of us older generation being such fun loving Jackie Fans. It brought me back to the 60s with Love-ins. We passed the time by telling all the Jackie stories to anyone who would listen, then we got real lucky and heard Jackie practicing to the uproar at the finish. This taping was truly mind blowing with all the anticipation of a marvelous mystery. As each song was sung I had a very hard time wrapping my mind around the power and the precision of Jackies upper range. There were a few times I thought she might have hit notes beyond anything I have ever heard her sing, in Jackie words, Just Amazing !!!!! I am one of the lucky people who got to also be present at the Orpheum for the the taping of Music of the Movies and now feel privileged to have witnessed Awakening also. I usually feel lucky to say I really like one or two songs on a CD at first but this one is just over the top. My very very favorites were Vocalaise and Ave Maria. Both pieces are, IMHO, very difficult to sing and Jackie hit the nail on the head both times, I got both goose bumps and tears at the same time on both songs. Again, IMHO, there is not one song I did not like, which is unbelievable. The night was so overwhelming that we got lost getting back to our hotel which was 9 miles away. I, like most Jackie Fans, am in awe of this young child that is now a young lady whom, at this juncture in life has a truly unlimited career ahead and she has thus far taking us on a magical ride of monumental proportions and this is only just the beginning. I am saying that Everyone, I mean Everyone needs to have multiple copies of this CD and DVD. I dont believe I have ever shared this much on any one subject. I am truly blessed to have found Jackie Evancho as early as I have and look forward to being her fan for the rest of my life.
