Post shared of Kenfac Residents Ratepayers CITY OF CAPE TOWN AND TRANSNET VIOLATES RIGHTS OF THE KENSINGTON FACTRETON COMMUNITY On behalf of the community of Kensington Factreton we call upon the City of Cape Town and Transnet not to violate our democratic rights by moving people into our area without meaningful consultation with the entire community. We have been informed that Du Noon squatters will be moved to Transnet land in the Kensington Factreton area. City legal advisors are busy with the documentation to make this happen in the next few days. We condemn this unilateral action by the City and Transnet. The City and Transnet have never taken into consideration the urgent needs of the families of Kensington and Factreton residents living in backyards, in overcrowded circumstances . In the last 40 years the city has failed to build a single house for people in our community. They must move Du Noon people to open land in Pinelands & Constantia.
