Posted on EG On a trip from Perth to Geraldton, we stopped in Muchea for petrol, stocking up on snacks for the journey trying to juggle with tongs and bags that wont open with my phone in my hand, I made the fateful mistake of putting the phone down on the shelf and yes you guessed it, walked out without it. Only when I arrived in Geraldton and went for my phone to inform my daughter that we were home did I realise my mistake. Find My iPhone app showed it had not moved from where I left it so using the till receipt to get the number and hubbys phone I called my phone. It was answered by a shop assistant who informed me that the phone had been left behind and they had no idea who it belonged to because they couldnt unlock it. When I identified myself as the owner we agreed that if I spoke to the manager the next day it could probably be posted to me. Remembering that a friend was making the same trip the next day we contacted him and asked him to pick up the phone on his way through and instructed him to reward the assistant and we would reimburse him, then contacted the store to inform them and give the name of the person, they were happy to oblige. When our friend called in he was asked to show ID so that they were sure the phone was being given to the right person and absolutely refused the reward. Next day I called the store, thanked them once again, they told me a customer had found the phone and handed it in. If you are that customer and you read this then be very proud of your honesty that is a rare quality these days and know that you have my grateful thanks that on my return to UK I will be able to show my souvenir pictures to family and friends.
