Good afternoon Macomb County, Plans to host our 4th Annual Prom Event are well underway! This year’s event, re-named “A Dress to Remember” will be held exclusively at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Warren on April 10th, 11th and 12th. It was decided to bring the event to an area where lack of transportation is frequently a major obstacle. Although this event will be open to the public, it is anticipated that foster teens and those living in the South Warren area will be our most prominent guests. Two other community organizations have joined us in hosting “A Dress to Remember”. The Closet Lady and Laundry Moms will be assisting with several dresses, clothing racks, shoes, and jewelry and Handbags of Hope will be providing some gorgeous evening bags to add to our accessory selection. However, we are very much still in need of formal gowns and PROM dresses in order to make this a GREAT event by having a large assortment of clothing options for the guests to choose from! Unlike previous years, we have, so far, collected very few formal dresses for this year’s event. Therefore we are, once again, making an appeal to our community partners to help us in finding dresses. Please look in your closets to see if there are any items that you would be willing to donate to help these girls on their special day. We know that most of these teens simply cannot afford to purchase the necessary formal wear to attend this occasion and also know that there are beautiful dresses sitting in closets never to be worn again! Please consider giving up an item that your or your daughter/niece/neighbor wore to a happy occasion and help make dreams come true for foster care and underprivileged teens in our community. Items can be dropped off at our Central Administration office at 19700 Hall Rd. Suite A, Clinton Township 48038 up until April 8th or they can be picked up by student volunteers if needed. Please share this flyer with others you know who may be seeking a place to donate those formal gowns and accessories too. THANK YOU all for your kindness and generosity!!
