Alston, 27, of Canton with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operation of a vehicle with inadequate plate lamps at 9:08p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Madrid Avenue. He was arraigned by Potsdam Acting Village Justice Margaret Garner and was released on his own recognizanceto return Aug. 23 in Potsdam Village Court. Police said Alston was observed driving on Pine Street with inadequate plate lamps. A traffic stop was initiated, and further investigation revealed that the suspect had a revoked license due to several unpaid and unanswered traffic summons. FAILURE TO YIELD - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Guangming Yao, 31, of Potsdam for failure to the yield the right of way on a left turn at 4:54 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Elm Street. Police said she was observed failing to yield right of way to northbound traffic while completing a turn from southbound Market Street to eastbound Elm Street.
