Potter, Laleme Win Big on NAPA Double Points Night Randy Potter - TopicsExpress

Potter, Laleme Win Big on NAPA Double Points Night Randy Potter took advantage of a couple of early restarts to take the first race for the North Country Ford Late Models in 2013. Bryan Mason led early, and had an extensive battle with Potter on multiple restarts. The roles were reversed on the final restart, where the two battled one more time. Potter would power away for the victory. Mason would settle for second, and veteran Steve Patnaude would come across the line third. Second year late model driver Matt Carbone and Corey Mason rounded out the top five. The Sign Depot Limited Late Models enjoyed a split segment event tonight, as two-time defending champion “Hollywood” Chandler Davis fought through traffic to win the first segment. Local boy Jerrad Ledger took the lead early in the second segment and went on to take the checkered. After it was all said and done, Doug Laleme put together two consecutive finishes by running the outside groove, taking third in the first segment and second in the final segment. Davis would survive to finish second, and Ledger would come home third. Jourdan Davis and Alex Rooney completed the top five. Jamie Heath avenged a mechanical failure on opening day to win the Town and Country Inn and Resort split segment feature event. Last year’s champion “Stormin” Keith Normand nabbed the checkers in the first segment, but a rough second segment really shook up the overall feature finish. Jason Kenison took the checkers in the second segment, and took second overall, with Normand surviving to finish third overall. Will Good and Jon Savage completed the top five. Jenna Randall used the outside groove to her advantage, and fought multiple times for the lead to come out on top in the Ouellette Trucking Angels division. Randall and Tina Leveille battled right down to the checkers, as Randall would beat Leveille by a bumper at the line. Jaime Carbone took the third place trophy, with Vanessa Brown and Carrie Dunn rounded out the top five. The DK-N-Sons Pure Stocks are slowly growing, as they enjoyed a few extra laps on NAPA night. Richie Veilleux started on the pole, and tried fending off Oxford, Maine’s Gerard Cote, but Cote’s Monte Carlo was too fast and picked up his first win at Riverside Speedway. Veilleux tried valiantly to run down Cote, but had to settle for second, and Dave Glidden took home the third place trophy. The Marshall Insurance Agency Daredevils have been involved in Daredevil Schools before practice starts for the day, and it showed as the drivers are improving weekly. Zach Savage battled his way to the lead and never looked back. Matthew Kopp brought his Ford Probe across the line second, and Dylan “The Dragon” Laleme finished third. Next week ACT comes back to town to finish the Bond Auto 150 next Sunday afternoon, June 23rd. 121 laps to still be run, plus a 100 lap, split segment open race for the Street Stocks, $500 to win. Post time is 1:30, and it’s just $5 to get into the grandstands. Then Riverside Speedway returns to action on Saturday night June 29th for the “Blast of the Past”, as past champions get recognized on the front stretch. All 6 divisions will be on hand, as well as 4-cylinder Match Races. Post time for that event is 6PM.
