Poultices Forever. That is my motto. Last night after soaking, antihistamine gels, homeopathics, pain meds, a short poultice pack, and 45 minutes of icing, I went to bed thinking I had taken the ant bites down to a dull roar and would be able to sleep. And I did, for about an hour, when they started shrieking again, and my leg started doing weird twitchy spasms, and my stomach said, This really hurts. It might be appropriate to throw up in response. Duncans poultice mud was nearby and I grabbed it, slathered it on, and put a socklet over it. Not instant relief, but...it lasted all night when it finally got there. This morning the foot hurts in the background and the skin is stained all red from the venom, but its not too bad. And now I will always try poultice mud FIRST. (Those damned harvester ants. Once they get caught in a shoe, they just keep *chewing* on you. This is definitely the worst ant incident Ive had, and it was only one ant!)
