Poverty in America : The people who fall below Poverty Threshold( i.e. Earn $957.5/month; ₹65110/month in Indian currency) are considered poor. It does not include noncash benefits such as public housing, medicaid, employer-provided health insurance and food stamps. It means a person who lives in a Palace like home and have many vehicles including other luxurious commodities but his earning is below ₹65110, he is considered BPL . So, it is absurd to compare an Indian poor with that of an American Poor.
