Power update from Endeavour Energy at 6.09pm: Endeavour Energy emergency crews have safely restored power to 5000 customers without power after this afternoon’s electrical storm. At the peak of the storm, lightning strikes and strong winds disrupted power to 7,500 customers across Greater Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. Work will continue until late tonight to safely restore power to the remaining 2,300 customers in the following areas: · Hawkesbury - Castlereagh, Londonderry, Cranebrook, Windsor and Yarramundi · Blue Mountains - Lapstone, Glenbrook, Winmalee, Linden and Faulconbridge · Western Sydney – Kenthurst, Hebersham and North St Marys · South Western Sydney - Camden Park and Cawdor People returning home from work who find damage to their service line connecting their home to the powerlines in the street are asked to please call 131 003 to report the problem. Customers who need power for medical equipment should check their battery supply and consider acting on their back up plan. The public are urged to report fallen powerlines to us on 131 003 or any other incidents on their local network that may help us safely restore their power.
