Poyet pays tribute to travelling fans. During their 10-day stay in Portugal Sunderland were backed by hundreds of fans, who had made the trip to support their team. Albufeira became a sea of red and white during the Black Cats’ stay and this didn’t go unnoticed by head coach Gus Poyet. “The fans have been magnificent,” the Uruguayan told safc. “They sang throughout every game and they’ve travelled far to back us, I was delighted to see so many there, they made us feel at home. “They are magnificent for the club and for the players,” he concluded.
