Poyner Families - please help out a fellow panther. Dylan Stevens is a 5th grade student at Poyner. He was diagnosed with Junior Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2011 for which he takes 42 pills a week and a shot of Humeria. On Friday, October 24, 2014 Dylan came down with a fever, headache, dizziness, and had no energy. What they assumed was just a viral illness turned out to be Histoplasmosis. People with healthy immune systems are able to recover quickly from this illness, but due to Dylan’s compromised immune system he has not recovered well. His liver has been enlarged, he has a continual fever of over 103 degrees. He was admitted to the University of Iowa Children’s hospital on Sunday, November 2nd. Driving to and from Iowa City is taking a toll on the family. Poyner Elementary will be collecting change throughout the month of November to help the family with needed expenses. (Giving for Girls has been postponed until April 2015.) Please send your change to school so we can help our fellow Panther and his family through this illness!
