Praise God. It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of my adopted grandson, Kyron Aikens (13 years old) this day at 2:39PM. Praise God, I loved him so very much. Praise God, Kyron accepted Christ as his savior and was baptized. His Pastor was Rev Reg Slade of RBF Church that met at Patuxent Elem (now moved to downtown Upper Marlboro).. My grandson was a student at Patuxent Elementary School. His father, Kevin Aikens was also a Patuxent student. Kryons paternal grandparents (Regional & Ronnie) still live in the Meadows. On this past Sunday afternoon, Kevin was one of four boys walking across a Baltimore County pond when they fell through the ice. Indications are that Kevin was in cardiac arrest when he was finally found and pulled from the pond by professional water rescue teams. Praise God that there were (un-named) by-standers who reached out to help all four boys. Praise God for the John Hopkins childrens emergency medical team. Praise God for the 25 career and volunteer fire units who risked it all to find/rescue Kryon from the water. The units were: *Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, Texas - Station 17 in Cockeysville, *Carroll Countys Gamber & Community Volunteer Fire Company, *Middle River Volunteer Ambulance Rescue Company *North Point/Edgemere Station Volunteer Fire Department Praise God. Lord God. I will miss him so much. My heart aches.
