Praise Jesus, I have a precious Aunt, her name is Lucille. She is my fathers only sister, still living. She has royal blood flowing through her veins, yes, she is saved and sanctified, a term you dont hear much any more. This means there is nothing about her that is worldly, unlike most of us todays confessing christians. She is peculiar indeed, and holy, which we are called to be. My precious aunt moved here from Detroit some years ago. She doesnt drive, and has had challenges getting to church and other places. Well, Ive made it clear to her, and my Uncle Celester, that if they need me, just call me. I am here to serve not only my parents, but also but uncles and aunts. My uncle Celester, has been given restrictions, the doctors not permitting him to drive. I once had the pleasure of driving him and Aunt Rosa, to florida, we had a great, great time. Well, my aunt called me this morning, and I had been out late, and was tired, really tired. She wanted me to come and pick her up for church. Joy bells started to ring down in my soul. I gave up my Sunday morning Facebook. lol I got dressed so fast, my father looked at me funny. Son why you get dressed so quick, well, I didnt want to be late picking up auntie. Dad replied, well I guess that is good, but you have 2 whole hours before you pick her up. lol This is what loves does, it gives you joy to serve those you love. Well, I was going to be early picking her up, and I called her to see if she would be ready. She said honey, I cant find my gray stockings. Somethings this younger generations, knows nothing about. Youre not a lady, if you dont have on your stocking in church. lol Well, I said auntie, I will go buy you some. Okay honey, she replied, Ive give you the money when you get here, get me some gray ones, one size fits all. Well guess what, they didnt have it. I called her and she said, Well, get the off black ones, guess what they didnt have those either. I asked them if they had any more in the back, somewhere in storage, they said no. I called her again. She said, Well get white, one size fits all. You guessed it, they didnt have those either. I just bought 3 pair, and beg the clerk to let me return the pairs she dont like. No return policies there. He agreed, thank God. Praise Jesus, so off I went to pick her up. Then after church we celebrated a birthday dinner at the church. She sat down between my mother, and my aunt, my dad at the same table, my uncle, and others in the family. I told her to take her sweet time. I could tell she was trying to be respectful and said to me, Well, I guess I am ready to go home. I read right between those lines. I said to her, you set your sweet self back down, and youre not leaving until Mom and the others leave. She was so happy, she started smiling, knowing she wasnt ready to go. lol Well, I just did something I rarely do. I set down and didnt say a word for some time, and just looked at people, and smiled, being grateful to be with family, and being used to help bringing family together. Oh thank you Jesus, for this love, and this special family, you have given me. I read a post earlier from Yolanda Nichols Crowder, about family ands church, a good word of encouragement from her. Family, let us love one another, for love is of God, and if we love God, we must love people. Praise Jesus, for HE ALONE IS WORTHY.
