Prattsburgh, NY | Hugh R. Fullerton, 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Hugh was born on April 9, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in rural southern Indiana without electric and was a farm boy. He was class president for 4 years in Cloverdale, Indiana, attended Indiana University, where he met Judith L. Eggers and they married in 1958. Hugh was a medic for the U.S. Army from 1960-62. He moved from Indiana to New York, was the President of Computer Fulfillment, Inc. and helped put the L.E.M. on the moon. Hugh moved to Prattsburgh, was the womans basketball coach at C.C.C. with and 86.5% graduation rate, and was the first director of NJCAA Reg 3 Womens Division. He became the Prattsburgh Town Supervisor and did away with a tax district, lowered taxes twice, put lights and benches in the park, lowered the sidewalks, put in trees and lights on Main Street and created the Historical Society. Hugh published The Citizen and helped create the library. With Judy, he restored the Van Tuyl house. Hugh raised cattle and loved Prattsburgh! Family and friends are invited to gather at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh, NY on Monday, February, 3, 2014 from 4:00-7:00pm. A celebration of life will be held at Hughs home at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prattsburgh Library or Prattsburgh Ambulance.
