Prayer for Tuesday........ Dear Lord, the Cross has much significance for us. It is the price that Your Holy Son, the Spotless Lamb, paid for our salvation. It signifies the supreme and unconditional love that He showed us when He gave His life on the cruel cross of Calvary. It gives us hope in the “noisy confusion” of a world gone cold; where life becomes more unbearable each day. On that old rugged cross, Jesus suffered and died in our place so that we may live without disgrace. He was blameless but He took the burden of our sins upon Himself, remove our guilt, cleanse us and gave us the opportunity to start over again. Precious Lord, as we look on the cross this morning, we are thankful for the gift of life which was purchased by the spilled blood. Lord, show us the wounded side and the limbs that were pierced on our behalf; to set us free. Give us humility and remove the stony heart which makes us oblivious to the needs of our fellowmen. Lord, give us humility and love and help us live wholesome and god-fearing lives to prepare us for Your Kingdom. Precious Lord, continue to wash us in the blood that flows from Calvary, for we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity; and we live in a world where temptations are limitless. As we kneel at the foot of the cross, we don’t have much to bring but we offer You our cares and concerns, our heavy burdens and our sinful souls. We ask for mercy and grace that will pardon and cleanse within. Help us to judge no one as we seek Your face; for we are sinners saved by grace. We present Your sons and daughters today and ask for forgiveness, renewal and redemption. Father, we come to You in ‘sack-cloth and ashes;’ for we are truly penitent. We come in all our filthiness and ask for a fresh start. Dear Lord, revive us again; soothe our sorrows and help us to bear our separate crosses. Take charge of us Lord and guide us through this day. In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit we pray. Amen~ Pamella Spence
