Prayer works! Today, while not perfect, was by far the best day that Lily has had so far. They decided to stop her Tylenol today because they were concerned that after being on it around the clock for the past two weeks, perhaps it was causing issues (and pain) with her liver. As of tonight Lily has been restarted on all of her home medications. The plan was to evaluate Lily in the morning and transfer her to the step down floor (HKU). I boldly asked if the team would consider discharging Lily straight from the ICU to home. While this is not typically the hospitals protocol, the doctors agreed with me that this might be a good idea. Everyone, surgeons included, will meet in the morning to discuss my proposed plan. Lily has not been herself for the past two weeks, and this has been very atypical and alarming to everyone. I am hopeful that home will rejuvenate her spirit. Heres to hoping
