Prayers for a friend; A little over 20 yrs ago I delivered the Tulsa world newspaper on my way to work, some folks I delivered to were a little elderly, one day it was really cold and snowy so I thought Id just take it up the long driveway and toss it by the door, on my way up the drive I noticed a bunch of building material in the field.. I was almost to the house when a man stepped out gun in hand and said can I help you I said I deliver your paper and thought Id run it up here so you didnt have to get out in this... I asked if maybe I could hunt there, he came back with a stern NO! Then I asked about the materials, he said I bought that 2 yrs. ago to build a pole barn but had an accident and my back wont let me now I said tell ya what, you let me hunt, Ill build your barn for ya, the friendship began... He said, you got a deal, but how much money I said not a dime, you just buy the materials... Me and ole George became really good friends, him and his wife Sue turned out to be some super nice people, George would always tell me stories every time I came to hunt, kinda like one would hear from their grandpa.. The years went on and project after project came along that with cutting firewood every year kept me side by side with George learnin and listening to his life stories, he became really close to me.. Then ole George got sick, real sick, I knew it was coming and it did.. Sue called, said George had passed. The next year and years since hunting hasnt been the same, no more stories, no more George to greet me.. I continued helping Sue out, mowing, general up keep etc. Sue got cancer last year, went thru chemo and recently brain surgery, the surgery didnt go so well, she ended up with the symptoms of a stroke but she gradually was getting better,, they told her if she could get to walking better she could go home.. well Sue has always been a strong women, I knew shed do it and be home, but tonight while out hunting their son showed up, told me Sue had pushed to hard, that she had fell, it snapped the ball of her hip joint off.. She just had surgery a few days ago... Sue is a very special person in my life, shes talked to me and helped me thru some hard times, so tonight I ask for prayers for her, to help her get better and back home..... It was beautiful out there tonight, the running jokes always been they would leave the place to me someday,,,, Jokes over, anyone looking for lakefront property ;)
