Prayers needed for my Dad! On Thursday he was diagnosed with Parkinsons. He was flown to SLU on Sunday morning at 1:30 am. We thought he may have had another stroke, the good news and only thing we know after 6 hours in the ER and 7 hours in the hospital he didnt have a stroke. They think it may have been a seizure. We left the hospital with so many unanswered questions. They wouldnt run any tests because it was Sunday and would not keep him because they had no beds. They told us to follow up with his regular doctor, ENT, and neurologist. Hello, we asked can they not run the tests while we are here, they kept telling us its Sunday. We know no more now than we did when he got on that helicopter. We were told since SLU is a critical care hospital they could not do anything since he did not seize again while there and his stats were all good and no signs of a stroke. He is in so much pain with his back since his fall 2 weeks ago, and dizzy all the time. We were told they would run an eeg to see if he had a seizure that didnt happen, we asked if it could be from new medication that he started on Friday, they did not know, we asked if they could do an MRI of his back, NO, we asked if since bone scan and xrays he had two weeks ago didnt show anything if maybe they could check for pleurisy, NO. We tried to explain to the doctor that my Dad does NOT complain EVER, so we know he is hurting if he is asking for pain medicine and wanting answers, they did not understand and said he is just going to have to live with it. It is just so your SAD that they cant figure this out and hard seeing my Dad in so much pain and discomfort. We just want answers. I was so mad at the doctor yesterday I had to walk out of the room after he smarted me off several times. He made so many rude comments I was just holding back, one being he is 70 years old he is surely retired after being told several times no he is a farmer, farmers never retire Of course he did not understand that either. Please pray for answers!
