Premier Barnett has just stated shark cull protesters are not beach goers. As someone heavily involved in the campaign to stop the shark cull, I can say that I have met surfers, snorkellers, divers, swimmers and avid beach goers, I have encountered shark attack victims and general members of the public that believe Western Australia is NOT a state that promotes slaughtering an endangered species. I have met elderly people that have enjoyed swimming along the coast each morning for decades, they do not want a shark cull. I have met children that do not understand why we are hurting our marine environment. Every type of demographic imaginable sat down at Cottesloe for the protest at the beginning of this year. This is an issue for many Western Australians from all walks of life. Mr Barnett, please do not try to pigeonhole those that do not want this nonsensicle policy. #noWAsharkcull
