Presenters nightmare: Was giving a talk the other night. About a quarter of the way into a 97 slide presentation when my laptop died. Not as in ran out of power. As in froze, crashed, and then didnt detect a hard drive or something. Had to wing the rest of the talk without slides. When I got back to our office after the talk, I turned on the computer and it gave me the Windows didnt shut down properly (no shit) screen, but then after I selected load Windows normally loaded Windows without a hitch and has worked ever since. Didnt know whether to be relieved or annoyed that the laptop had chosen such an inopportune time to not work. This was the first time its done this. I suppose the lesson in this is to copy my talk onto a flash drive and to make sure someone brings a backup laptop. And probably back up my hard drive and have my laptop looked at. Any other thoughts or ideas?
