President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a three-man panel to investigate the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah, over the purchase of two bullet-proof BMW cars worth $1.6m (about N255m). The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, had purchased the two BMW’s on the alleged orders of the Minister. Alhaji Sali Bello, a former Head of Service of the Federation will serve as chairman; Col. Sambo Dasuki (Rtd.), the National Security Adviser; and Air Vice Marshal Dick Iruenebere (Rtd.) are members Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati said the panel would, among others, ascertain whether the procurement of the vehicles followed due process, ascertain the purpose of procurement and inquire into any other incidental matter.
