President Umar Musa Yaradua of blessed memory created a plan and implemented it to end the Niger Delta insurgency, despite his ill health. I know one of the prominent militants, who told me how they met him in the villa and he could barely stand. How he mandated Jonathan to continue discussions with them and how when things were not going well he intervened. At the same time his government sent troops who attested the Boko Haram head Muhammed Yussuf. Yussuf was eventually murdered by the police when the army handed him over. Now never once did Yaradua blame Niger Delta, elders, opposition, religious leaders or any other groups for the problems. He identified the problem, identified how he wanted to tackle it and single handedly pursued his goals, THAT IS LEADERSHIP. Here and now our president seeks to make political capital out of every situation even at the expense of the lives of his citizens. He let issues fester everyday and willing to blame it on others. He is responsible for nothing. What a shame.
