Press Release 02: European Bowling Tour 2014 The schedule of the next tour in Europe, known as the European Bowling Tour 2014, has been decided by the ETBF Presidium. The schedule is presented at the following page and at the ETBF Website: etbf.eu. The EBT 2014, which is the 15th consecutive tour since the tour was organized for the first time in 2000, consists of 21 tournaments, conducted in 14 different member federations. The tournament in Barcelona was earlier this year removed from the EBT 2013 as a conse-quence of the local financial situation; a situation which unfortunately also prevents the tour-nament from being included in the EBT 2014. We hope to see the tournament in Barcelona back in the European Bowling Tour at a later moment. Missing in the tour schedule for 2014 is also the BNC Open in Bratislava; in 2013 conducted with a Gold status, followed by hosting the EBT Masters, but unfortunately not included in the EBT 2014. Also the BNC Open will hopefully be welcomed back at a later moment. On a very positive page, we can report the come-back of Istanbul Bowling Open in the EBT schedule; made possible by Serdar Erdis, the new and also the first owner of the well known Timeout Bowling Centre. The tournament in Istanbul is one of the classic events in the tour. We are also warmly welcoming two completely new tournaments in the EBT 2014, namely Ekaterinburg Open 2014 (Russia) to be organized by the Bowling Federation of Sverdlovsk Re-gion Ten Pin, and Gibraltar Open 2014 to be organized by the UK based company Matchpoint Tours. The 21 tournaments in the EBT 2014 are divided in 4 categories: EBT Platinum (minimum 100.000 € prize fund), 2 tournaments EBT Gold (minimum 60.000 € prize fund), 6 tournaments EBT Silver (minimum 40.000 € prize fund), 4 tournaments EBT Satellite (minimum 20.000 € prize fund), 9 tournaments The total prize fund in the EBT 2014 is approximately 1.1 million €; giving an average prize fund of approximately 51.000 € per stop. The 12 highest ranked women and the 12 highest ranked men after 21 stops are qualified for the 8th EBT Masters; hosted on 6 July 2015 by the organizer of Brunswick Italy Challenge.
