Press Release: The State Committee for Slaughter Houses, Department of Urban and Local Bodies, Haryana constituted as per order passed by the Supreme Court of India and its 4th meeting was called on July 25, 2014, following points were raised by Naresh Kadian, non official member of the said committee and approved by the House. 1. Recommendations for deletion of cow words from the Hindi version of the Meat Food Products Order, 1973 because cow beef export is prohibited in India. 2. Formation and proper functioning of the Infirmaries all over Haryana, as it’s mendatory under section 35 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. 3. Formation and proper functioning of the Societies for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals all over Haryana, as per rules. 4. Declaration of cow progeny, as State Animals of Haryana, in domestic animal category. 5. Proper implementation of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter Houses) Rules, 2001. 6. Amendment in animal welfare legislation’s and Kuldeep Siag, IPS was asked to examine the issue and how all offenses against animals can be amended as cognizable offense in legal terms, besides it he was asked to prepare animal abuser registry, to identify the offenses against animals. 7. All field functionaries to be directed for strict compliance of section 94 of the Haryana Motor Vehicle Rules. Naresh Kadian, non official member informed the house that animal can be shifted, as per their shape and size not by weight, as it is in practice that animals are being badly abused during shifting in goods transport vehicles, he further stated that Govt. of India considering the matter to amend its Motor Vehicle Act about introduction of prototype of proper suitable vehicles to carry animals, in humane way.
