Press Release Thursday September 11th, 2014 For Immediate Release TOUGH DRAWS FOR DEFENDING CHAMPIONS AS PAU CLUBS KNOCKOUT KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND 2013 Clubs Knockout Champions Skin Samona are to face a tough start after yesterday’s draws held at Lumas Club on Namirembe Road matched them away and against Ntinda based Rock Catalina away this weekend. Through their freshly crowned National Open Champion Fahad Sewankambo, Skin Samona will have an upper hand against Rock Catalina although the likes of Oscar Ocakacon, Ronnie Kalungi, Ezra Kaggwa, Simon Lubuulwa and Rogers Musinguzi will shoot at their best to stop the stars in the Skin Samona squad. “Skin Samona which has 5 of Uganda’s top seeds is a threat and we shall not take them lightly. We shall utilise our home ground advantage and use our best tactics to stop them. A win from home is critical as we strive to survive Skin Samona in the first round. We expect them to be tougher when we meet them at their Wakaliga based grounds in the next face off”, said Rock Catalina’s Oscar Ocakacon. The event that attracted 30 men’s clubs and 13 ladies’ clubs kicks off this Saturday 13th September 2014 and is scheduled to end on the 06th of December 2014. Of the 30 men’s pool clubs is Serere Pool Club from the new Serere District, Bisina Hunters from Soroti, Red Shooters from Masindi and Trust & Obey from Jinja. The rest of the clubs are from around Kampala. Among the new clubs featuring in this annual event is Da Klass from Namuwongo, Mbogo from Kawempe Mbogo, Wembley and Scrap Buyers both from Kisenyi, Corporate from the city center and Kabaawo from Wankulukuku. Serere and Seeta’s Viper Pool Club automatically entered the second round after getting bye in draws. In ladies category, Champions Indigo will face Kisenyi based Transformer while last year’s runners up Lumas will face Gals Pool Club who that has signed up the 2013 USPA Female Pool Player of the Year Nimusiima Ritah who is currently on form. During the ladies’ category draws, Spice, Skin Samona and Capital Night got no opponents and they are automatically through to the second round.
