Press statement on the auditors findings The office of the auditor general has just finalized an audit into the Embu County governments accounts which started two months ago. The report findings were presented to me on Thursday during a briefing with my officers and the auditors where clarification on issues raised was done as we await the final report from the auditor general. My county government has nothing to hide since the auditors were presented with all the necessary documents in the spirit of transparency and accountability. The auditors did their job professionally. No money was issued to any auditor in form of falsifying the report. These corruption claims by an Embu political leader that the report comprising of the accounts of the two arms of county government; the executive and the county assembly had been compromised is unfounded. It would be prudent to launch a formal complaint with evidence rather than publicly issuing unfounded rumours. It is time to stop politicking and fully dedicate the remaining three years to hasten development to the Embu residents. This politicking is another distraction geared towards delaying the much awaited development to our people. I appeal to all the leaders to now work and give the right information to the right agencies directly rather than engage in politicking. I wish to assure our people the funds allocated to the county are well spent and will continue in providing services to the mwananchi of Embu County.
