Priceless Musings: Singer/Songwriter Willie Nelsons hair braids apparently sold this week for $37,000. Sure hope he didnt come with them. It doesnt appear they went for charity and a report says they auctioned to an Unknown Bidder. This falls in the Just Plain Creepy category. One highlight of Shannons year has been donating 14 inches of her beautiful hair to Locks Of Love, a charity that makes wigs for cancer patients. Hair donors arent paid a dime, but knowing you bring a smile to someone facing such great loss is priceless. Heard an economist speak this week and he said 32% of Indias population is so poor that they live on less than $1.25 per day. That means Indias poorest of the poor could each live almost 82 years if they had Willie Nelsons braids to sell. The other notable number was the National Debt went from $16.738 Trillion to $17.824 Trillion in one year. The difference is $1.086 Trillion. Thats over $29.351 Million Willie Nelsons Braids!!! Every time I hear a politician announce state or federal funds being granted, I have to ask where are you getting the money? IL Gubernatorial Candidate Bruce Raunner was fundraising in an Evanston bakery earlier this week. Someone must have told him they have a lot of bread there. I know one young lady that took a tough situation and played through it this weekend. Her contributions and similar contributions from every team member summed up to win a Championship. Thats teamwork, and what terrific young ladies they are maturing to be. I happen to love this young lady more than she knows. You can say that this Conference Championship was Priceless. Tomorrow is Columbus day, the perfect day to take off to spend with a daughter. Likely we will be contributing to our economy by engaging in some retail therapy. The ultimate currency is your smile. I tried to give mine away yesterday, but like a tennis ball, everyone kept returning it.
