Princesses - I have received several Messages regarding confidence issues and anxiety.. First let me say It is a Privilege to encourage you ladies..It helps me cope with not being able to run GSC this year due to health issues.. Let me say I have been on both sides of the fence.. I was once a fast Princess (finishing half marathons under two) and now due to Health issues I am a slower Princesses. For the faster Princesses. You have a true gift. I take great Pleasure in watching the elite runners come across the finish line.. It shows great courage, determination and a competitive spirit that I cannot put into words. Last year at Princess I was amazed at how many of the faster Princess stood around to wait for the slower Princess come in and encourage them every step of the way!! For the slower Princesses. Don’t worry.. Just ENJOY.. Don’t let negative thoughts cloud what you are doing.. A mile is a mile !!! An elite runner will tell you be it 14+mins or 7 mins .. A mile IS STILL A MILE.. . Also, it was brought to my attention and needs to be mentioned RUNNERS COME IN ALL SIZES, Tall, short, small and large. Size does not make you a better runner.. YOU are out there working it!! Making verbal comments at someone is never acceptable under any circumstance. Verbal comments HURT to the soul.. My last Half before I got sick was in June a Man come behind me and sd “WHY BOTHER”.. I actually run in an Electronic Brace that aids my foot to come up due to MS.. I run BECAUSE I LOVE IT and I show the world there is HOPE BEYOND HOPE!! ..I almost let this man get in my head.. I just keep on pushing Yeah it took my almost 3 hours to get to the finish but I got there.. Princess is about lifting each other up. We work all year for that 3 days. We Speak “DISNEY” .. We are Proud.. TUTU STYLING, CROWN WEARING PRINCESSES OR SHOULD I SAY QUEENS…. I realize it is starting to get really REAL just keep training and ENJOY yourself!! RUN FOR YOU!! RUN BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT!!!.. SIGNED A Humble Princess. As you are approaching the castle remember Ecclesiastes 9.11 The RACE will NOT be Given to the Swift and strong the Race is WON by those who ENDURE to the FINSISH.. I WILL BE AT THE FINISH LINE OF THE HALF. IN MY MS SKIRT OF HOPE!!! WAITING FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU TO CROSS.. HUGGGGGGSSS.
