Privacy is the characteristic of doing what one does without being - TopicsExpress

Privacy is the characteristic of doing what one does without being associated with the general body politic (public). Privacy does not exclusively mean the state of being alone. Public is the characteristic of doing what one does under contract with a general body politic. People misuse the word public to mean within the presence of other individuals. When one walks through a crowd one is not in PUBLIC unless one has a contract and is acting within that contract as it relates to others in that crowd who consent to membership in the same body politic. Youre right to privacy means your right not to be compelled to conform to a set of predefined or presumed behaviors without your expressed consent. No this is not a dictionary definition, it is common sense.
