Pro-Israelis somehow refuse to believe that Israel is being - TopicsExpress

Pro-Israelis somehow refuse to believe that Israel is being condemned by the international community. They rely heavily on the United Nations inaction to prove this. However, the UN only remain passive for two reasons, and it has nothing to do with majority opinion: 1) Although consisting of 192 countries worldwide, the UN contains a special body called the Security Council. This Security Council consists of 15 members, ten are elected for a period of two years, and five are permanent. They deal with issuing international sanctions, peacekeeping operations, and authorising military action. One of the five permanent members are America. Permanent members of the Security Council each hold the power to overturn any motion with a veto vote. Israel have broken more than 70 United Nations resolutions so far and violated terms under the Geneva convention. Whenever the UN Security Council propose a sanction, every nation to date (discounting abstentions) have always voted Yes. Except the US, they have repeatedly vetoed any attempt to sanction Israels violations of international law and agreements. 2) The United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon, who holds a high office when it comes to UN investigations has been proven to be a collaborator of Israel. Documents leaked (by Wikileaks) have shown his secret efforts to weaken the effects in a Board of Inquiry through sending biased recommendations during investigations against Israel dating all the way back to the conflict in 2008-2009. This man is the face we have trusted to represent the international communitys humanitarian interests, and has been proven a shameless fraud. Notwithstanding the above disappointments, many official bodies have declared upon Israels illegal actions: - The United Nations Security Council, the United Nations General Assembly, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Court of Justice, and the High Contracting Parties to the (Geneva) Convention all agreed and condemned Israeli settlements in the West Bank as illegal. - Latin America, who have always been good friends of Israel (even allowing Israeli travellers to enter without a Visa in the past) have made many changes. Countries like Bolivia, Chile, Brazil, and many others have condemned Israel publicly and cut off all diplomatic relations. They have even expelled Israels Ambassadors. Turkey, and many other nations outside of South America have also taken similar measures. The expulsion of Israeli ambassadors is in fact a call resounding from New Zealand, to even Norway. - Americas Human Rights Watch have published a report detailing the deliberate killing of civilians by Israels military during the current conflict: hrw.org/news/2014/08/04/gaza-israeli-soldiers-shoot-and-kill-fleeing-civilians. - Amnesty International and 150+ international legal rights experts have all expressed their conviction of Israel as a war criminal. Their reports openly state and demonstrate the many war crimes committed and international laws broken: globalresearch.ca/150-international-legal-experts-israel-has-committed-war-crimes/5395356. - Neturei Karta, a massive Orthodox Jewish movement consisting of many holocaust victim descendants have openly declared Israels actions as violations of basic human rights. The biggest Youtube broadcasting network, TYT, have released a video focusing on a particular holocaust survivors personal, detailed, and extremely touching perspective about what is happening in Israel today (it starts at 1:27 for those interested https://youtube/watch?v=IynADeLxfCU). This list is barely the tip of the iceberg. How much official condemnation does Israel need to realise that they have been officially condemned? In fact, does it even require international condemnation to discern simple moral convictions like abducting children from towns you are attacking is wrong? To realise that there is no way to justify killing innocent pre-adolescents on a beach, or bombing hospitals and destroying families? Ones conscience should not be measured by official UN sanctions.
