Pro Tip Tuesday - Lag Putting: To help lower your scores, and take less putts, it is imperative to be a good lag putter. To start getting the ball closer to the hole on long putts, try these few tips: 1. Focus on the thighs. A lot of players tend to sway with their lower body when hitting long putts, however this is counter-productive. To get better contact, and hit better lag putts, make sure to keep your lower body quiet. 2. Putting stroke length. Make sure to focus on keeping your back stroke and follow through similar distances. This will help to make sure you have a more fluid motion with the putter, resulting in better putts. 3. Practice. Place a tee in the ground 2 feet in front of the hole, and another 2 feet behind the hole. Practice taking putts from 30, 40, and 50 feet and having the ball stop between the tees. This will result in getting the ball closer to the hole, leaving a shorter 2nd putt. Thanks for tuning in! - Matt Lunden, PGA
