Problems are funny things. At some point we have to step back after cleaning up whatever mess we are faced with and say, hmmm, what caused that? As I was reading the news today I saw that kids are snorting sweet tarts. Back when my daughter was young they did something called Brain Flossing, (no comment on that one). As parents we look at these actions and say, Is this wise?. As children, because they are hormonal, and lack experience, they look at us with a deer in headlight look. Whatever problem we are faced with, be it sweet tarts, the internet, or guns, it ultimately comes down to wisdom. Sweet tarts, the internet, and guns are not the problem. Its the judgement calls our kids make that need some work. So how do we fix that? What we know is that when kids put pen to paper, they slow down and focus. That helps them behave more wisely because they stop and think, instead of just react.
